Hello and welcome to my corner of the digital world! I'm Rayonna, a passionate and dedicated journalist with a keen eye for storytelling and a commitment to delivering impactful narratives.
I have recently transitioned to the Gary Business and Economic Development Reporter with Capital B Gary. My journey has taken me from audio reporting to photojournalism, and then to culture and diversity reporting, where I've honed my skills in research, interviewing, writing, editing, and multimedia production.
I believe in the power of journalism to inform, inspire, and create positive change. Throughout my career, I have worked on projects related to D.C. statehood, LGBTQ+ rights, insurrection trial coverage, and other issues over the years. Recently, my work has highlighted business and non-profit owners in the city of Gary, as well as cultural news in the town, and connected people to the prospect of what Gary is becoming. My work is characterized by a blend of feature writing and odd topics, and I am constantly seeking innovative ways to engage and connect with my audience.
